Mid Autumn... carrying on the tradition without PapaMerv

It's been a week now since PapaMerv left. Yesterday was Mid Autumn, a time to enjoy the Moon with family and have moon cakes and other savories, We didn't celebrate, it was just a normal dinner and we're all seated in our usual seats and we have left a pair of chopsticks, a bowl and a soup spoon for PapaMerv. It's rather strange feeling. My two nieces were oblivious to the solemn moment as they helped themselves with the food on the table. MommaMerv was busy as usual, dishing out veges and other food as she scurried back and forth from the kitchen. We waited until she has settled down and sat on her chair and all of us said: Dad, Mom ... please eat. She took the first bite and we followed.

I know physically, Papa's not around; however we can still sense his presence during dinner and each of us scooped a piece of  his favorite dishes and put it into the bowl and plate. Nevertheless, we chatted and ate... Seemed like everything's back to normal. I felt happy then... More so if we can have this during our dinner time when ever we come back to our parent's home. Be it for a festival or celebration, This should be the way....

The night was cloudy and breezy... as I stood outside of the porch and try to gaze at the Moon, I had a feeling that PapaMerv was standing beside me... Also gazing at the moon and I felt his warmth and his love...  The night before, MommaMerv dreamt of PapaMerv, he was feeding her some food, She politely decline saying Papa should take the first bite, he smiled as mum recalled and he took some bite and pass the rest to her. Dad... happy mid autumn.
