Re-alexis...

When I first heard of Alexis Cafe, it was back in the mid late nineties, back then; it was like the place to be seen, the food is good, the desserts are mouthwatering, the service is good, The place has a nice feel. Their concept is to wine, dine and be merry with a touch of class. The food menu consist of western and local flavours. The decor was warm, rich in wood, black and white. With Jazz melodies filling the ambience of the shop, you can't help feeling yourself transported back into the times of great swinging 30s and 40s.

Now, 2009; Alexis revamped itself into something more urban, modern and relaxed. The jazzy tunes are still ringing, but the urbane feeling with soft and warm lighting fills the place with chic coolness. The chairs and tables are replaced with modern designer furniture pieces that evoke practicality and comfort. The new black and white photographs of KL's famous landmarks and designs fill the grey canvas walls and on the back ground, a huge wooden cabinet fill with racks of wines, white diner plates, glasses of all sorts and sizes. All these making the cafe feels like a modern dining space.

The main attraction of the whole cafe is the large black marble counter top that separates the dining area with the bar. The feel of black marble anchored in the middle of the room gives a certain kind of dualism in space usage. The front entrance is tucked away from the busy streets with huge frangipani trees and big leafy halenconias lined up to create a green barrier.

Alexis's revamp is timely. After all, change is necessary, their menu is improved with some new signature dishes and new beverage list.
