A night of catching up...
Last night, I was at Ikkyu with Carebear , we haven't met for a while. So I thought it was nice of her to drop by and suggested let's have dinner...
Ikkyu is a friendly japanese restaurant owned by a nice japanese lady, Miwako San. As we arrived around seven-ish, it was early and the restaurant was quiet. I ordered some dishes and this was what we had for our grub moment...
Yeah.. I know, we're such PIGS!!!!!! It was a scrumptious meal! We started off with:
Vegetables with sliced dried squids... them squids were 'moving' as we feasted.. its due to the heat... the rising heat produces the effect of the thin slices of squids moving...
Next on the menu:
This is my favorite... I will order this when ever Miwako San is doing this special dish. It's a kind of tofu... called KOYA tofu.. it is spongy!!!!! This version has chicken filling... They also come in plain tofu... You Must try it! Carebear was so impressed... Apparently, it is a delicacy in the Wakayama Prefecture, Lady Fukunaga's home....
We both love the japanese version of POTATO salad... It is so creamy and smooth... it has slices of carrots, japanese cucumbers, leeks, eggs, and potatoes... So YUMMY!!! Oi-shi!!!!
Oh and a hearty dish of Giu Teppanyaki (grilled beef meat balls)... Carebear was eyeing on beef as she looked at the menu.. so we ordered and we caught up with each other while having our dinner... After dinner, we stopped by at a nearby bar for a drink to chat more...
Around 9.30 pm, Princess Carebear has to go home orelse the carriage will turn into a pumpkin... So I got back home to shower and went back to the bar to do some email work.. yeah.. imagine a bar with internet wireless facility.. heheheheheh....
I liked the bar... and I called AL to drop by after her work shift finishes... She swung by around half pasy eleven and we had a few drinks of beers.... And as usual, little AL and I caught up and filled each other on what had happened the past two weeks. Was supposed to meet AC who was in town for a brief visit. AC flew back to NYC this thursday morning.. so yeah we're gonna try to make it to the Big Apple to visit her next year.. but not after going down under, Perth to see another friend of ours...
Looks like I will be traveling a lot next year... I slept well at 2 am... *burp*.... haaaa... nice feeling.

yeah.. Princess need to go home before her carriage turning into pumpkin.. Not a pretty sence that will be.. =)
