A bad friday, a weekend of Tea, Seoul Food and Feng Shui Part 1

Friday. . .the day everything went haywired for Merv. Had to reschedule some appointments, sitting down with some clients and suppliers, lil red showing signs of sickness. Haiz...... Towards the evening, supposed to meet up with the Sub Con to discuss on the car porch and fencing... However, his phone was not switched on. So I made a detour from PJ and headed to the Gardens for some retail therapy! Nut bought a versace wallet, Booker bought a Maurice Lacroix... I bought TEA!!!!

Was at Hojo Tea shop and made friends with Hojo San, (Akira Hojo) the MD of Hojo Tea (M). Since I got the Japanese tea pot as a gift from CC and AL, so I decided to get some Japanese green tea for myself...

Hojo San was detailed in explaining how Japanese tea is prepared and brewed. Most Japanese teas are not fermented, they are steamed and set to dry in cool places with little sunlight. This process retains the greenish taste and the color of Japanese Green tea. Most Japanese tea leaves are grown in Shizuoka (静岡) and Hojo's teas are selected from tea leaves grown in the area of Mount Hon (本山) or Hon Yama.
Japanese green tea is known as SenCha (煎茶).

Deep steamed sencha from the region of Hon Yama

Taiwan Dong Ding Oo Long

Bought deep steamed sen cha from honyama , Dong Ding Oolong and Deep Fired Dong Ding Oolong Tea from Taiwan. Total damage: RM 354... After my spending spree, I had dinner with MommaMerv and as naggy as she was, I still love her, left dinner and went to pick up CC. . . Met with FW at Plaza Damas for a bit of drink and to discuss on some cabinetry, wardrobe quotations. and Later, tummy was feeling a bit hungry... had supper with CC and FW... We went to Koguryo. .. :
From left to right: Pork cakes, Fish cakes and fresh salads....

C.C looking imancipated.... or was he striking a pose...?

C.C's poison - Korean Bear... Hite... very light actually... we think it's less than 5% alcohol.

Potato cake : Potatoes mixed with starch, bits of shallots, onions and leeks.

Our favorite: Kimchi with Mackerel Soup... The soup's absolutely fabulous....

FW looking very impressed with the supper selection...

The food was okay. Not strikingly good though. And expensive, I think. Only been there once.
