BKT at Klang and Kombat Koala's B'day bash...

In a nutshell, this weekend was all about food. Yes, It was a pig-out affair, we've planned this during my sabbatical, BookerP suggest that I try her favorite BKT joint which is nearby the place she lives. Last Saturday, Bunny, Jr, Nut and I went over to Booker's home and later, an old friend of Booker and Nut came later... I brought along my two teapots and two of my favorite tea leaves, Bo Lei (Pur Erh) and Tie Kuan Yin tea leaves. ASD's supposed to join us but he had a 'flying fox' thing with MS that morning as well.

The BKT shop was full of people when we arrived, Booker ordered for us and within minute, came 3 plates of YCK (Yew Char Kuei) its a kind of dough rolled in cylinders and deep fried. The YCK goes very well with the soup of the BKT. Two huge clay-pots full of BKT and pork! Yummy!!! After all that wonderful BKT, Booker asked if we would like to have some new year cake with fried yam batter. She took me to a little shack where we parked our cars and I took away 10 pieces. (For ASD, as he missed the gastronomic affair.

An hour later, we went to the other place booker recommended: Hakka Pork Ribs! The place is tucked within a busy suburb in Klang town. The only landmark I could remember was it was very near to the Mosque! Yeah a big yellow mosque, still under construction. I will get the address from Booker when I see her. So we had the ribs, two plates of it as HRH Nut loved the ribs, 3 bottles of large soya bean milk, two plates Peng Heong meat balls, 2 large veggies (for Bunny as bunny loves his vegetables), their signature curry lamb dish. When we were done, I was too stuffed to move. Booker suggested we go for cendol, but we were too full. Sigh... Never before I had two meals within the span of an hour!

Going back to KL was a bit of a nightmare, due to some road work in the middle of Klang, it was a horrendous drive! Nut, Bunny and Jr went to the Curve, I got back to get some work done as I have to meet a Singaporean client who will be arriving the night. Not to forget, I was invited to Koala's birthday party at his pad in Desa Park City later at 8 pm. I remember Desa Park City as a very new suburb, I had done three Feng Shui consultations and it was barely new the time. So to my surprise when I arrived at Koala's place, The lake has a shopping arcade called the Waterfront, I went inside and have a look-see. I was very impressed. Like what Nut said, this neighborhood has pink potential. The security check at Koala's condo was good but these fellas were very unfriendly. Nut, Bunny & Jr arrived, followed by ASD, MS, Carebear and C. Koala ran all the way from his unit to bring us in. I could understand why. The visitor's parking lots were a long walk from his Condominium.

It was nice to meet up with Pins, her hubby and her kid again. I finally got to meet Koala's girl; LCJ and Choowie... The party started well until Nut and ASD had a full blown migraine. I gave ASD and Nut a chinese acupressure. The trick is to find a lump in between the index finger and thumb. You have to press it as hard as you can. The lump is one of the meridian points in chinese acupuncture.  I did this on both their hands. Later, Nut just went to sleep. . .  Carebear was teaching massage techniques to Jr and I had a first hand experience. She certainly know how to massage! Despite all the camaraderie, Nut was oblivious to all the racket and was peaceful in his royal slumber... That I thought was the most poignant part of the party...
